Where crypto meets cuisine
Thailand native Chef Piyarat Pota “Chef Bee” Arreeratn is the definition of a modern-day entrepreneur.
He originally moved to America with no prior professional culinary experience but didn’t let that little detail stop him from pursuing his passions.
He worked his way up the ladder from dishwasher to busboy to food runner to sushi chef at Miami’s famous Nobu all the way up to Siam River where he honed his craft.
But Chef Bee had bigger dreams still.
And so, in 2005, he launched his first restaurant, Oishi Thai, which received the Miami New Times accolade for being “Best of Miami” in its first year of operation.
And now, Chef Bee is making headlines in the Miami culinary scene once again with an entirely new idea: Piya – Miami’s first NFT restaurant.
For the uninitiated, NFT stands for non-fungible token. It’s a digital image file that can be bought sold and traded.
If the project comes to fruition, Piya will feature a collective of three distinctive venues: A formal Thai-inspired dining room, a fast-casual area and a private dining space.
Chef Bee hopes to fund the restaurant through the sale of these tokens at PiyaMiamia.com in exchange for members-only access to specific areas of the venue, seminars, events and meet and greets.
At the time of this writing, an opening date has yet to be announced, but the Piya website is currently accepting applications.
