Meet Chef Peter Vauthy of Red South Beach
It seems that New Jersey native Chef Peter Vauthy was born to be a chef.
He received his first cookbook when he was only four years old and has fond memories of watching his family cook in a small family kitchen with a 4-burner stove and a simple wall oven.
It was this love of the culinary arts that eventually led to his professional studies at L’Academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg where he graduated with distinction.
Just a few years later, Vauthy was hired to lead a team at Moxie, The Restaurant in Cleveland which was ranked in the top 50 restaurants in the country during his tenure, and later went on to become the Executive Chef at Moxie’s sister location, the original RED Steakhouse.
In 2008, Vauthy decided to bring his expertise to Florida, opening up a second location for RED Steakhouse – Now RED South Beach – on Miami Beach.
In the years that followed, RED has gone on to become a staple in the Miami food scene, receiving several awards and distinctions of its own including being named #1 Best Surf & Turf in America by The Daily Meal, #1 Best Restaurant in Miami Beach and Best Steakhouse by Time Out Miami.
RED’s menu items feature raw bar selections like shrimp cocktails, tuna tartare and oysters, salads, pastas, seafood and steak.
